Most New Games

A sad fact of life is that casinos don't generally add new games to their gaming floor unless the house advantages for these games are more favorable than they are for the ones they replace. Several examples of new games that are bad bets include:
Casino War As in the game you played as a child, the dealer gets one card, the player gets one card, and the high card wins. Because of a couple of "twists" in the rules, the player faces a disadvantage of from 3 percent to 3.75 percent.

Countdown In this no-strategy game the dealer distributes thirteen cards to thirteen boxes on the layout. If the dealt card matches the illustration of the card in a box, the player loses. The casino edge on the basic bet is 2.75 percent-too high to be a good bet.

Three-Card Poker This poker variation is simple to play, and allows the player to make three wagers. The reasonably low house edge of 2 percent on the ante bet and 2.3 percent on the pair plus bet make this game almost qualify as a good bet.

According to Lenny Frome, the highly respected casino gaming expert, players are advised to wager on both of the betting options the Pair/Plus and the Ante/Play-and to play if the hand contains a Queen-high or better. The rules of play are simple, the basic strategy player is "in action" about 70 percent of the time, and the game is fun to play!.

Before playing any other new games, read the literature and determine what the experts say about the proper strategies and the house edges. Just because it's a new game that's "easy" to play doesn't imply it's a smart game to play.
